One of the group’s that attended our 14th BRICK workshop in Linlithgow is in a tight spot. See their question below.

We are up against the intransigence of The Forth Ports Authority, which owns all of the land upon which a Heritage Centre could be built but will not engage with us but. How can we bring pressure to bear upon this seemingly immovable object?

Have you overcome a similar situation? Have ideas or your own question to share? Please respond.

Could you find out what the Ports Authority has in mind for the land and try to incorporate it into your project? Are they holding it for future development? If so is there an opportunity for partnership working? Can your project excite them on a “What’s in it for me?” angle? Can your project be sited elsewhere? Is so can you “auction” the benefits to the respective parties? Just a few ideas from afar. All the best of luck to you!
