We would like to invite you to our next workshop in Llandudno, North Wales on 24 June 2015. This exciting day will focus on topics related to regenerating and operating heritage sites as visitor attractions and, more generally, ensuring a sustainable future for our historic buildings and sites.
Being the largest seaside resort in Wales, bestowed with a wealth of built heritage, Llandudno is an ideal location for our next workshop. The event will take place at Mostyn Art Gallery, whose restoration and extension were completed in 2010. There will be an opportunity to tour the building on the day and learn about the Gallery’s history and regeneration.
The workshop will include a range of presentations by national experts, including:
- Niall Philips, Purcell architects’ Head of Design and Regeneration, who will talk about securing a sustainable future for our built heritage through innovative design
- The National Trust’s North Wales team, who will share their invaluable experience of recruiting and managing project volunteers
- The Prince’s Regeneration Trust’s Laura Norris, who will talk about the use of historic sites as holiday accommodation, illustrated by the examples of sites run by the Vivat Trust
- Representatives of Gwrych Castle Preservation Trust will talk about their efforts to restore this fantastic historic site and turn it into a thriving visitor attraction.
We also ensure that there is plenty of time for you to meet each other, discuss your projects and specific regeneration topics during our group sessions.
If you require support with the online and digital promotion of your project, our Digital Assistant Claire Mykura will be holding a short BRICKwork surgery during the lunch break.
To make sure that everyone is able to come, we keep our costs as low as possible. Tickets cost just £22 (including lunch). Travel bursaries are available for representatives of community groups (max £25 per person, two per organisation). Please apply by emailing us at email@example.com.
As a part of registration, you need to complete a brief survey. Information gathered from this survey will help us tailor the BRICK programme to suit the training needs within the heritage regeneration sector.
For any other questions or suggestions email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or ring (during office hours) on 020 3262 0576.
