Developers and communities tend to meet only in the adversarial environment of planning committee meetings or public consultation, although they have much to offer each other if a good relationship can be formed at an early stage.

To address the issue of how successful community / private sector partnerships can be formed and maintained, the BRICK programme included a Partnership Brokers Pilot in its first year. We run it in partnership with Locality, the leading nationwide network for community-led organisations. As part of this pilot, four partnership projects received 10 days of brokering each.
